Working With The Solutions EventsI am honoured to be endorsed by Ms. Queenie Rodriguez of Vanilla Sky Weddings to try out with the Solution Events. I was impressed with their team, and took mental notes on how I could improve myself. Ms. Anna, the head coordinator of Solution Events, I learned something from her, “it is not what you say, but how you say it”, this really makes sense to me. I am a person who believes in saying the right thing, the right way, the right time, and politeness goes much further when it is said sincerely.
Doing Make-Up for KidsI did make-up and hairstyling for Direk Gaines’ granddaughter Nikki. Nikki is only four years old and speaks English well. She was excited to take photos and listened to Sir John Silao’s directions. Sir John is great with children and Nikki soon got into modeling and posing. Working with a young child was an interesting challenge but everyone had fun and The Team got many wonderful shots.
Clients As PriorityDuring the wedding of Andrew & Joyce, I wasn’t actually really feeling well this morning and still tired from my Cebu trip. I knew that I was worn out because of the past holidays and also under some stress on important decisions for my future. I was unusually quiet and calm but still doing the job well, though a bit of issue came up, I kept my cool and dealt with it. The bride and I got along, she regained confidence and made an apology, she’s really pretty, inside and out. Even though I don’t feel well, I still made her smile especially when we went to the wrong bridal car. First time this happened to me. Somehow it was until when we’re a corner away that the mistake was known. We did get to ride in a top of luxury car and had selfies before getting back to the hotel as there were two weddings going on at the same time. It was rather humorous and the correct car was brought up. Such an unexpected experience. All’s well that ends well. It was a “Miss Universe 2015” moment. I learned a valuable lesson today, even though I may be tired and worn out, it is my duty as a wedding coordinator to make my clients at ease.
Bohol & Carlos NuptialsToday I coordinated my cousin’s wedding alone because I only knew about it 3days ago. I wish I could have coordinated it with my Amayor group but with such short notice, during the last few days before Christmas everyone was tied up. So I went as a guest, though soon I gave my assistance at the church and reception. This time I offered my services in assisting and coordination as a gift to my cousin, but next time I will be able to provide my team Amayor group. Another experience that adds to my understanding and skills as a Coordinator. 🙂
My First Time As A ShooterThis is my first time to actually take some shots of the models from H&J Sports Bar. Sir Don encouraged me to rather take the shots after I made some suggestions and he felt that the models understood me just better in guiding them in posing. I was able to communicate to the girls what Sir Don was trying to explain to them unsuccessfully in his poor tagalog and he then graciously step aside. “Be my guest, Shoot!……….. guide them, talk to them. That’s it, that’s it”, he told me… It was a good experience and I didn’t expect to get the chance to shoot. I’m looking forward to the next time. Sir Don and John always say that “Beauty is in the eye of the photographer”, but it takes a Team Effort to capture the best shots. I think I could be a good fashion & glamour photographer, mmmmmm. 🙂
TimesGold Halloween PartyThe TimesGold Company invited me to be a judge of their Halloween Party for employees. Ofcourse I dressed up in my own costume, as a hottie Minion! I should have judged MYSELF as the winner. HAHAHASome of my favorite cartoon characters were there…. Naruto, Bumble Bee Transformer, Iron Man and Co-play, so many great and creative self-made costumes. It was difficult to chose the best, but I finally did, it was?????? Afterwards many asked for my autograph, since I was introduced as an actress, and we had our photo Selfies with each other. Well, everyone at TimesGold were pleased and invited me back again. I am really good at interacting with people from all walks of life… Event Coordinators have to have outgoing personalities to bond with their clients and their needs. I learned from this experience and had so much fun. 🙂
The Wedding in TagaytayRoy & Fel held their beautiful wedding in the most popular tourist destination overlooking the Taal Lake where the couple’s both families originated and are well establihed in Tagaytay. It was my first time experience for a wedding on location outside Manila with many logistic challenges for the vendors and coordination with local officials and the family. I learned SO MUCH and it’s a great feeling to be part of a team that puts this all together. It has certainly given me so much to think about in terms of possibly getting into wedding planning & coordinating officially!
Gab & Lindsay Civil WeddingToday I coordinated Gab & Lindsay Civil Wedding. The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Lights of Love situated in the midst of Quezon City with two hectares serenely breathtaking Secret Garden State and nestled among exotic trees, blooms, lagoon and waterfalls offering beauty at every turn. It’s an absolute honor of coordinating a civil wedding. This is my second wedding coordination and I learned even more in my venture into wedding coordinating, but figure I’ll save further advice for my future posts.
H&J Staff PhotoShootsIt was a flurry of activity as Sir Don & John with their team prepared for a photo shoot for H&J staff. I was able to use my expertise in Adobe Photoshop and LightRoom to edit and make collages for presentation to the owner of H&J. It is a team effort indeed and I enjoyed watching everyone giving their all in helping to “get the shots” perfectly.
My First Wedding CoordinationJhun & Dona’s wedding is very memorable to me as this is my first jump into wedding coordination. Razzle-dazzle guests of the friendly couple comes by. I was so pumped to meet some new vendors and also see some of my favorites. I shall say that this is real as I have had exposure to events planning and coordinating through the awesome styled shoots I have collaborated on over the past year, but they do not come close to the excitement, stress, joy and overall emotional and physical roller coaster of coordinating a real wedding! Until then, as a wedding planner and coordinator, I am super excited to see where this takes me! 🙂
